CDS: transition from spread to points upfront
--once five-year CDS spreads approach the 700 bps range,
the quoting convention
often changes from
running spread to points upfront plus a 5% running coupon
. --protection buyer pays 1,570,000 at inception and 125000 per 10 mil notional quarterly
