Alt-A research highlights - Creditsights

--More than half of 2005 to 2007 vintage Alt-A mortgages have ARMs --The bulk of Alt-A mortgages will face rates reset in 2010. 2008 and 2009 will be relatively quite. Reset margin is around 2.5 to 3 % --The total size of 2005 to 2007 vintage Alt-A mortgages is around 1 tril, peaking in 2006 with 360 bil --half of Alt-A has interest-only period. the common maturity of interest only period is 10 years --20% of Alt-A has negative amortization, known as option ARM, allowing interst to defer interest payment. Max limit 125% of the loan value.
